The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-6 MCX653435A-EDAI is a single-port Virtual Protocol Interconnect (VPI) adapter built on the ConnectX-6 controller (MT28908A0-XCCF-HVM), supporting both InfiniBand HDR100/EDR and 100GbE Ethernet over a single QSFP56 port. Connected via PCIe 4.0 x16, it gives system architects the flexibility to deploy the same adapter in either InfiniBand fabric or Ethernet networks, selecting the protocol at configuration time. Its RDMA capability spans both native InfiniBand RDMA and RoCE v2 over Ethernet, making it a strong fit for HPC clusters and AI training pods that require deterministic, ultra-low-latency fabric connectivity, as well as for data centers standardizing on Ethernet-based RDMA.
