The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-6 EN network adapter (MCX614106A-VCAT) is a dual-port 200GbE card built on the ConnectX-6 (MT28908) ASIC, designed to deliver maximum Ethernet throughput even on PCIe Gen 3 server platforms. Because a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot cannot fully saturate two 200Gb ports, this card uses NVIDIA Socket Direct technology — two PCIe 3.0 x16 connectors (a main card plus an auxiliary riser) — to combine 32 lanes of host bandwidth and preserve near line-rate performance across both QSFP56 ports.
