The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-6 MCX614105A-VCAT is a single-port ConnectX-6 EN adapter — an Ethernet-only variant of the ConnectX-6 family, without InfiniBand mode — built around NVIDIA Socket Direct technology. Its PCIe interface splits into two 16-lane connections across an edge connector and a companion PCIe x16 auxiliary card, letting each CPU in a dual-socket server access the fabric directly over its own PCIe path and enabling full 200Gb/s Ethernet throughput even on servers limited to PCIe Gen 3.0 slots. Built on the MT28908A0-XCCF-HVM controller, it provides hardware-accelerated RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE v2), SR-IOV, ASAP2 OVS offload, and NVMe-oF storage acceleration through a single QSFP56 port, making it a purpose-built option for customers who need ConnectX-6-class 200GbE performance without the InfiniBand mode of the VPI cards.
