The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-5 MCX555A-ECAT is a single-port Virtual Protocol Interconnect (VPI) adapter card that can run either 100Gb/s EDR InfiniBand or 100GbE over its single QSFP28 port, connected via a PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface. Built on the MT27808A0-FCCF-EV controller, it supports native InfiniBand transport alongside RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE v2), giving system integrators flexibility to deploy the same card into either an InfiniBand HPC fabric or a 100GbE data-center network. The card ships with a tall bracket and is one of the most widely deployed ConnectX-5 SKUs, having been qualified as an OEM networking option across major server platforms including Lenovo (SC57A31010, 01KT926), Dell (06FKDT) and HPE (872725-B21/H21, 877688-001, 878578-001). Its combination of low-latency RDMA, hardware transport offload and broad OEM qualification makes it a proven choice for HPC clusters, storage fabrics and virtualized data-center networks that need single-port 100Gb-class connectivity.
