The NVIDIA Mellanox MCX546A-EDAN OCP2.0 is a ConnectX-5 VPI (Virtual Protocol Interconnect) network adapter built in the OCP 2.0 Mezzanine Card format for direct mounting in OCP-compliant server platforms. Based on the MT28808A0-FCCF-EV controller, it provides 2 port of 100Gb/s per port connectivity over QSFP28 cages, connecting to the host over PCIe 4.0 x16. As a VPI adapter it can run InfiniBand EDR or 100GbE from the same port, selectable in firmware, giving deployment flexibility between HPC fabrics and Ethernet data centers. Hardware offloads for RDMA, NVMe-oF, SR-IOV and overlay-network encapsulation reduce host CPU load while sustaining line-rate throughput, and the OCP form factor simplifies serviceability and airflow in dense, hyperscale-style chassis.
