The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-4 MCX455A-ECAT is a single-port 100Gb/s VPI (Virtual Protocol Interconnect) adapter card built around the ConnectX-4 controller (MT27704A0-FDCF-EV), capable of operating as either 100Gb/s EDR InfiniBand or 100 Gigabit Ethernet on the same QSFP28 port through a PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface. It supports native InfiniBand RDMA transport for HPC fabrics and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE v2) when configured for Ethernet mode, giving system integrators a single hardware SKU that can be deployed on InfiniBand-based compute clusters or Ethernet/RoCE-based storage and cloud networks.
