The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx EN MCX4431A-GCAN is a single-port 50 Gigabit Ethernet network adapter in the Open Compute Project (OCP) 2.0 mezzanine form factor, built around the MT27712A0-FDCF-AE controller. It connects to the host through a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface and delivers a single 50GbE QSFP28 port with hardware-accelerated RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE v2), offloading data transport from the host CPU to reduce latency for storage and compute traffic. The card includes onboard Host Management support, allowing out-of-band monitoring and configuration independent of host OS state — a feature valued in hyperscale and OEM server designs where remote manageability is required at scale.
