The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-4 MCX416A-GCAT is a dual-port 50GbE Ethernet (EN) network adapter delivering two QSFP28-based 50Gb/s Ethernet ports over a full PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface, giving each port dedicated bandwidth headroom to sustain near line-rate traffic on both ports simultaneously. It targets enterprise, cloud, and storage servers that need maximum dual-port Ethernet throughput without the host bandwidth constraints of a shared PCIe 3.0 x8 design. RoCE v2 support delivers RDMA-class low latency and CPU offload for storage and virtualization traffic over standard Ethernet/IP fabrics. Built around the Mellanox MT27708A0-FDCF-CE controller, part of the ConnectX-4 EN silicon family, it is intended for Ethernet-only deployments where InfiniBand support is not required. As a ConnectX-4 generation adapter (circa 2015-2018), it remains a widely deployed, field-proven building block across enterprise and cloud infrastructure.
