The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-4 MCX415A-GCAT is a single-port 50GbE Ethernet (EN) network adapter that pairs one QSFP28-based 50Gb/s Ethernet port with a full PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface, giving that port ample bandwidth headroom beyond what a single 50Gb/s link requires. It targets enterprise and cloud servers where slot availability favors an x16 card, or where future flexibility is desired. RoCE v2 support delivers RDMA-class low latency and CPU offload for storage and virtualization traffic over standard Ethernet/IP fabrics. Built around the Mellanox MT27708A0-FDCF-CE controller, part of the ConnectX-4 EN silicon family, it is intended for Ethernet-only deployments where InfiniBand support is not required. As a ConnectX-4 generation adapter (circa 2015-2018), it remains a widely deployed, field-proven building block across enterprise and cloud infrastructure.
