Product Description
The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx MCX4131A-GCAT is a single-port 50GbE Ethernet (EN) network adapter from the ConnectX-4 Lx sub-family, a lower-cost, lower-power variant of the ConnectX-4 architecture positioned for cost- and power-sensitive high-volume deployments such as hyperscale and cloud server fleets. It connects over a PCIe 3.0 x8 host interface and reaches 50Gb/s Ethernet speeds over a QSFP28 port, with RoCE v2 support delivering RDMA-class low latency and CPU offload for storage and virtualization traffic over standard Ethernet/IP fabrics. Built around the Mellanox MT27711A0-FDCF-GE controller — the ConnectX-4 Lx generation ASIC, distinct from the full ConnectX-4 EN chip used in the MCX41xA-GCAT family — it retains core RDMA and hardware offload capabilities while targeting a leaner cost and power envelope. As part of the ConnectX-4 generation (circa 2015-2018), it remains a widely deployed, field-proven Ethernet adapter for scale-out infrastructure. The MCX4131A-GCAT ships under NVIDIA ordering SKU 900-9X429-0015-0T0.
