The NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro MCX311A-XCCT is a single-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter card built on the enhanced ConnectX-3 Pro EN silicon (MT27528A0-FCCR-XE), connecting through a PCIe 3.0 x8 host interface to a single SFP+ port. Compared to the original ConnectX-3 EN generation, ConnectX-3 Pro adds hardware offload for VXLAN and NVGRE overlay network encapsulation, along with an enhanced RoCE v1 implementation, making it better suited to software-defined and virtualized network environments where overlay tunneling is common. The card retains the full ConnectX-3 stateless offload set (TCP/UDP/IP checksum, LSO, RSS) and SR-IOV hardware virtualization support, while adding the ability to offload overlay tunnel encapsulation/decapsulation from the host CPU.
