Product Description

The Magewell Ultra Encode SDI Plus is a standalone hardware video encoder equipped with one 3G-SDI input and one synchronous loop-through output. It accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI signals up to 1920x1080p 60fps. The device features an H.264/H.265 (HEVC) dual-stream encoding engine whose main stream can output up to 4K (3840x2160) at 30fps, and can simultaneously push to as many as 6 destinations. It natively supports RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, NDI HX2/HX3, HLS, MPEG-TS, RIST, ZIXI and other mainstream streaming protocols, as well as platforms such as Twitch, YouTube and Facebook. Built-in 128GB local storage is complemented by support for external USB storage and NAS, with recordings saved in MP4, MOV or TS format and automatic upload to FTP, Google Drive or Dropbox. The compact 106.6mm × 106.2mm × 25mm chassis is powered by DC 5V with a maximum draw of 8.72W, and also supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, making it suitable for broadcast television, live events, remote production and education environments.

How is the device powered, and how flexible is field cabling?

It supports DC 5V/3A via the included power adapter and also IEEE 802.3af PoE, enabling direct power over the Ethernet cable to greatly simplify field cabling. Wi-Fi supports both Station and AP modes, and a 4G/5G USB modem can be connected as a backup network link, making it well suited for mobile streaming or remote venue deployment.

Can multiple Ultra Encode SDI Plus units be managed centrally?
