Product Description
The Broadcom P2200G-PTP is a dual-port 200GbE PCIe network adapter built on Broadcom's Thor 2 (BCM57608) Ethernet controller and enhanced with an onboard GNSS receiver and IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) hardware timestamping engine, making it the precision-timing variant of the standard P2200G. Each QSFP112 port runs at up to 200Gbps, or the pair combines into a single 400GbE interface, connecting to the host over a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot that matches modern CPU and GPU bandwidth. The card targets financial trading, telecom fronthaul/5G, and other latency- and time-sensitive workloads that require nanosecond-accurate clock synchronization alongside line-rate throughput. Standard Thor 2 capabilities carry over unchanged: fourth-generation RoCEv2 with hardware congestion control, TruFlow line-rate virtual-switch offload, on-chip Geneve/VXLAN/NVGRE tunnel processing, up to 16-function NIC partitioning, SR-IOV, and a silicon Root-of-Trust with secure boot and attestation. TruManage simplifies fleet-wide management in hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
