Product Description
The Broadcom MegaRAID 9660-16i is a PCIe Gen 4.0 RAID controller from the third-generation MegaRAID 9600 series of Tri-Mode NVMe/SAS/SATA storage adapters. Built on the SAS4116 RAID-on-Chip (RoC), it delivers up to 2x the bandwidth, over 4x the IOPS, a 25x reduction in write latency and a 60x increase in rebuild performance compared to the previous MegaRAID generation. The 9660-16i supports 16 internal SAS/SATA/NVMe ports through two x8 SFF-8654 (SlimSAS) connectors, and Broadcom's Tri-Mode SerDes technology lets NVMe, SAS and SATA devices operate concurrently in the same drive bay. The low-profile, half-length x8 PCIe Gen 4.0 adapter is SFF-TA-1005 Universal Bay Management (UBM) ready and adds hardware Secure Boot and SPDM attestation for platform security. It includes 4GB of cache backed by CacheVault (CVPM05) flash-based protection and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, making it well suited to high-density, NVMe SSD-based data center storage.
