Product Description
The Broadcom BCM57412 is a dual-port 10/25GbE Ethernet controller IC from the NetXtreme E-Series family, positioned as the cost-optimized base-feature member alongside the full-feature BCM57414. It targets OEM server and networking board designs that need reliable 25GbE connectivity without the added RDMA/TruFlow offload silicon of the higher-tier part. The chip presents a PCIe Gen3 x8 host interface and dual 10/25GbE MACs, giving board designers a drop-in-compatible component that shares driver stacks and design footprint with the rest of the NetXtreme E-Series family. On-chip stateless TCP/UDP/IP checksum and segmentation offloads reduce host CPU load, while SR-IOV and NIC Partitioning (NPAR) support enable virtualized and multi-tenant server designs. Manageability is handled through an NC-SI sideband interface for BMC/IPMI integration. As bare silicon, the BCM57412 is intended for reflow soldering onto OEM-qualified LOM segments or PCIe add-in NIC PCBs rather than sale as a finished adapter card.
