Product Description
The Broadcom BCM5720-2P is a dual-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PCIe Ethernet network interface card built on Broadcom's NetXtreme BCM5720 controller, a compact sibling of the BCM5719 sized for two-port designs. The card delivers two independent copper RJ45 Gigabit ports over a single low-profile PCIe 2.0 add-in board, giving servers an economical way to add a second isolated network path for management or failover without the cost and board space of a quad-port card. Like the rest of the NetXtreme family, the BCM5720-2P offloads stateless TCP/UDP/IP checksums and large send/receive operations from the host CPU, supports Receive Side Scaling for multi-core interrupt distribution, and exposes NIC Partitioning for lightweight virtualization. PXE, iSCSI boot, and UEFI support make it usable as a boot NIC, and an NC-SI sideband link lets the card share bandwidth with a server's baseboard management controller for out-of-band monitoring.
