Product Description
The Broadcom BCM5719-4P is a quad-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PCIe Ethernet network interface card built around Broadcom's NetXtreme BCM5719 controller, one of the most widely deployed Gigabit Ethernet chips in enterprise servers. The card presents four independent copper RJ45 ports over a single low-profile PCIe 2.0 add-in board, giving rack and tower servers extra dedicated Gigabit links for management, production, and failover network segmentation without consuming four separate PCIe slots. Each port supports stateless TCP/UDP/IP checksum offload, Large Send/Receive Offload, and Receive Side Scaling to reduce host CPU overhead under heavy network I/O, while NIC Partitioning and SR-IOV let the adapter be carved into multiple virtual functions for hypervisor environments. PXE, iSCSI boot, and UEFI support make the BCM5719-4P usable as a boot-capable network adapter, and an NC-SI sideband link lets it integrate with a server's baseboard management controller for out-of-band monitoring.
